Can I ask you a couple of questions please (on PM)?

I'm looking for someone who did the import themselves, not via an importer.

Thanks!

I did it a few years back. I had an import licence then but don't bother now.
Get the paperwork sorted and it's nice and easy. However, exporting from the USA ain't so easy!

I did a personal import of a Shilen barrel a few years ago, this was before they clamped down with the ITAR business. Fairly straight forward in the paperwork is in order. Saved a considerable amount of £'s

I bought some rifles from private sellers in Germany who sent them to a German gun dealer who grouped them and posted them to a UK FAD. It was easy, a tad expensive but worthwhile concidering the prices of K98 in the UK...

Brought an S1 shotgun in from Turkey years ago - had a space on the ticket so no worries there.

No import licence either as it was a perosnal purchase. Customs were OK with it - as were the police at the airport who were keen to chat guns 'n stuff.
