Ammunition shopping near Oxford
Is there anywhere within about 30 to 45 minutes of Oxford to buy ammunition, at the moment I would be after a range of different .22LR to try out with new toys (photos to go in the new gun thread soon)?

The Running Man, neither of those show anything about rimfire ammunition on their websites so I hadn't looked at them. Do you know that they definitely sell 22lr?
I hadn't thought about the shotgun specialist so I will probably contact Francis Lovell and the Oxford Gun Company to see what they have.
Gh0st, thanks for that when I know what ammunition the guns like I might go there to buy in bulk as they look like they only sell the big boxes.

No worries, pretty sure you can just buy any quantity not just bulk.Plumose wrote:The Running Man, neither of those show anything about rimfire ammunition on their websites so I hadn't looked at them. Do you know that they definitely sell 22lr?

50 round boxes will be the smallest quantity you can buy for most brands. You’ll also find that there can be significant variations between different batches of the same ammunition.

I buy the bulk of my 22lr from Lovells. They carry CCI (sold in 100s) and a number of other brands in boxes of 50.
There's also Woodland Enterprises LTD. They're mainly rural pursuits based - but I do know they sell .22lr as I bought some subsonic CCI rounds last year. I would imagine they have a range for bunny bashers. They're on the Wantage to Hungerford road on an industrial site.

Christel, do you know if they sell complete rounds as they only list reloading parts on the website?
I will be doing lwsr with a rimfire magic 10/22 and 100 yard br with a BSA Martini.
The comment about batch size was for the Swindon one, as their website only showed 500 or 1000 round boxes which is bigger than I want while trying them out to see what suits what gun.
Lovells sounds good then, I see a trip there one afternoon soon to pick up a selection for testing.
Thanks all.
