I just watched the HK-G11 video by Ian Mccollum and it struck me that it is, in principle, a muzzle loader, thoughts anyone?

it uses a self contained

Yes, however it is dropped into the top of the rotating chamber so must be a muzzle loader :)

are you sure ? I was of the impression that the powder was the round, and was not encased by any other material ?

Well find someone who will sell you a G11 and then put a variation in for the long out of production DM11 4.73x33 caseless and we will be squarely behind you!

that was my understanding, the round that you see is primarily formed from the propelant in a rigid form, hence the "caseless" description

Correct. The propellant is cast, chemically hardened and then has a projectile and primer inserted. They come in ten round boxes which act as chargers for the magazines.
