Ear defenders.

#1 Post by ukrifleman »

Hello all,

I am thinking of purchasing some replacement electronic ear defenders in the near future for full bore target shooting.
Any recommendations would be welcome.

Many thanks,

ukrifleman.

If you do a search it's been covered before, but for me and Debs we both have Peltor Sportacs, they go for around £110 on ebay.

MSA Sordin are a great bit of kit, easy to follow conversations but keeps the big bangs muted. I know someone who changes the batteries every trip, but tbh, I've only had to change the batteries in mine around every six months or so.

+1 on the Peltor Sportacs as well.

Walker's Razor Slim are my choice. Batteries last ages, very good noise suppression and the mics seem pretty good. I pick them up in the States for about $50 but I think they are about £60-70 over here.

As the previous poster said this subject has been discussed in great detail in previous threads try doing a search.

We both use the MSA Sordin Pro X and have done so for years. In my opinion they are the best available and I would not change them, I did have to send mine off for repair a couple of years or so ago and from memory it was sub GBP35.00 for a new battery box. The Vikings have never missed a beat and battery life is good.

MSA Sordin's, had mine for 10 years with absolutely no issues. Got mine with the gel pads and you hardly know you have them on. Slim enough to not interfere with cheek weld and shot gun mounting. I will have another pair when the time comes. Battery life is around 6 months for me with them being used almost every day.

After trying several different types, I eventually bought a pair of MSA Supreme Pro-X with gel pads and while not cheap, they are excellent, and I wish I'd just bought them in the beginning as it would have been cheaper in the long run than spending less on all the other ones.
