Medical form for for applications / renewals
Having just spent 5 weeks getting a medical form completed by my GP when they are not unusually busy, if anyone needs one done in the near future you might want to get it in early as i suspect the start of Chinese flu season or just the blind panic thereof will bring completing these even further down your surgery's list of priorities and/or put the price way up.
Oh and for gods sake check completed forms from the GP before you leave the surgery in case despite 8 years or more training they can't fill out a form without missing bits!!!!

Re: Medical form for for applications / renewals
Police Scotland are saying I don't need to get the medical form completed for my FAC renewal because I got my SGC after April 2016 and as such the marker is on my file and I've already given approval for the Police to contact my GP and vice versa...I will be checking to make sure I haven't missed something in me renewal notification.

I was told it would be 28 days, and surprise surprise, it took 28 days. Different surgeries will have different time spans.

Mine said 7 days but instead took weeks and was incomplete the first time he did it!

Police Scotland (Inverness) just confirmed that I don't have to worry about this GP malarkey, which should make things a bit easier and cheaper.

Probably just a practical approach as they no doubt know that there are hardly any GPs working in the Highlands any more.

Maybe Scottish FEOs having to spend all their time tracking down evil airgun owners so they don't have time to check Sec1 firearm owners medical records

Police Glasgow had me provide the Doctors certification just a couple of months ago.
The GP's surgery charged me approx £35.00 for the privelige.
