Just landed a new freelance IT role in Belgium - 6 months part onsite, part home working.
All I could think about....
.....being able to pay the mortgage: Nope
.....being able to feed the wife and kids: Not really
.....being in a role that's fairly 'significant': Not a chance
.....CTM Range at Wavre: daily range membership: club full bore semi-auto rifles and handguns: EFP being valid until the end of 2020: YES! YES! YES!
Bit of IT work and LOADS of bang time!!!!

100metres?? Not worth getting out of bed for...............on the other hand you might get hold of a 9mm Browning, or a Sig, (not a Glock, though).........

What I'm really hoping to get sorted (didn't have time on my last contract there) is a Belgian Sports shooting license and then get a nice little .22RF pistol. The gun shop I use out there normally has a decent second hand selection. Then apply for a Belgian EFP to make travelling in Europe with firearms a bit easier after the end of the 'transition period'.
After that.....chips with mayo and quite a shedload of Belgian beverages

Congratulations - sounds excellent as long as Boris doesn't make you quarantine every time you come home!
There's a lot to be said for Belgian beer, frites, and moules - throw in some range time and getting paid for it all and I'm actually quite jealous! Enjoy!

Dave, I think you're being totally selfish, putting a job ahead of the welfare of your wife/kids/mortgage etc .... you lucky sod!
