eBay removing pellets

#1 Post by Hunter87 »

eBay removed my predator polymag pellet listing so I asked them why and got this responce.....

Hello Tom,

Thank you for contacting eBay regarding the removal of your listings of Predator Pellets. My name is Kiran and I’ll be assisting you in this matter.

I completely acknowledge your situation at this point of time due to the recent policy actions. I can assure you that these removals are not at all intended to question your business practices in any manner.

However, please understand that based on their Predator Ballistic design as well as their potential to be used to calibrate with real firearms we strictly prohibit such items on the site.
We do permit the ammunition pellets having normal flat / rounded head.

With regards to the other similar listings I can share that our team is already working on such listings on a regular basis and they do take appropriate action if they find any such listings breaching eBay’s policy. Although, it may take some time to clear the volume of such listings amongst millions of items listed on the site, you will surely be able to see a gradual decrease in the number of such listings.

When we removed your listings, in that group we removed many such similar items; however, you may not be able to witness the same due to our privacy policy. You may only witness the active listings. Hence, what you see right now on the site is not a complete picture. We keep on working on the site; but of course, the amount of volume we have is always a challenge. The enforcement of the policy remains the same.

Erm... as much as I try, I cannot see how an air gun pellet can be used to calibrate a firearm.

Always surprises me that the biggest platform used for the disposal of stolen property believes it is somehow the “moral police”.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I had a listing for a Mosin hand guard removed as "is part of a prohibited firearm"!.

I pointed out it is nothing more than a shaped piece of wood and there were quite a few listings for exactly the same part but no joy and none of the other listings were Pulled.I've seen barrels etc listed on Ebay.com but a piece of 80 year old wood is a big no-no!.

Very true but facebook marketplace is trying hard to become the platform of choice for dodgy goods. Those wonderful sellers with pretty much blank profiles and an eagerness to deliver.

Kiran would obviously have difficulty knowing his arrse from his elbow.

There are also plenty more sellers still listing them

Have to agree with the post above about it being a place to dispose of illicitly obtained items and doing ***** all about it, even when told.

In the past I have had issues with sellers who have thousands of negitive feedbacks against their account but they are still allowed to continue selling! Why? My guess is because eBay still makes money on every single item sold so why would they damage there cash cow by banning them.
