Getting rid of a deactivated firearm

#1 Post by James84 »

Hi all,

I have an 'old spec' Sten Mk II (barrel welded and shround pinned, bolt cut but still cocks and dry fires) that I want to get rid of.

Long story short, I have young kids and I no longer have anywhere safe to store it since I moved my gun safes, i.e. out of reach. It is sat around doing nothing and to be honest, I don't need or want it anymore. My question is, what do I do with it? As I am not allowed to sell it, I assume I need to either surrender it to the police or take it to a RFD? Are there any RFDs buying these to then deactivate (again) to sell on? Is that even possible/legal?

The other option is put it up under the roof and forget about it I suppose...
