Ooooooh Colt Series 70 on sale again.

Just surfing the Colt site and noticed that they are making the Series 70 again. This was the first firearm I ever owned and it was, to my eyes, a thing of beauty. All in the past of course but still..... perchance to dream.

Can't get to grips with those 1911 type things, literally ....prefer the Python

that pistol is a thing of beauty,colt make the 1911 very well,and with the the gold cup they struck gold.

i cant agree with you though chuck on the python,an ugly cubersome and with a trigger like a finger through pea gravel it sucked big time,when you took the python outa the box it was the best it was ever gonna be.....after that it got worse.

with the s&w 686 or 586 (the base model of most pistol shooter) it got better as time went on,i put 100,00 rounds plus through my 586 red ramp,and it still shot well come the great pistol injustice hand in.

a python would have fell apart like a rover sd1 long since.

My Series 80, fully tricked for ISPC, was my wedding present from my wife......... don't get me started!

As an aside, it's pretty sad that a company such as Colt has struggled for so long. Ironic when you consider that some companies have made a roaring success producing what were essentially Colt guns. The 1911, the Single Action Army and the AR platform......!!
