Very nice, it sounds like a very good combination and is a good looking rifle as well. Who was the rifle builder and have you decided on what you are going to put through it yet?

I think you'll be barking up the right tree with that load.

It is a good starting load and the rifle should work very nicely out past 1000 yards, do you plan to shoot F/TR with it?
Re: Picked up my new 308 yesterday
Any chance of a better pic?
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Hope to have a go at F/TR with it. Will take it to 1000 at bisley and barton road and see how it goes, it should shoot better than the nut behind the butt can.
The new AICS and skis are different to the origional ones on my 223 and will not fit the older chassie with out cutting the area round the bolt handle. The new chassie does not have the square metal protrusion that the bolt handle goes in.
I can take better pics but do not know how to post them if som one could let me know what format the forum likes I will have a go.

Not sure what you mean by Skis.... Which club do you shoot with at Barton Road?
You can upload most picture formats, a couple of megs per picture will load OK, failing that mail them to me and I will resize and upload them for you.
