The 300BLK gives the same ballistics as a 7.62 x 39 from the AR platform. It lends itself to both sub and supersonic loads very nicely, uses standard .308 bullets/boolits and is easy on the powder/wallet, 9 to 22gr of H110 will take you from 1000fps to 2400fps+
.300 Blackout may only have an application in a select fire AR for those requiring interchangeability between super and sub sonic loads with just a magazine swap. I really cannot see it taking off especially from the results that seem to be garnered from ordinary bolt guns.
Savage have dropped the concept of mating the calibre with their rifles because they couldn't achieve the accuracy they required....
I can see it going the same way as 6.8 SPC.
