Why not a 358 Win using a 1 in 12 pistol barrel blank - cheaper and easier maybe?
Plus loads of boolits to choose from!
Purveyor of fine cast boolits.
All round good guy and VERY grumpy old man.

If you want subsonic, why not a 338 Whisper or 338BR? It's the 7mm BR necked up to 338 for shooting big bullets nie and slow. I've been pondering this one for a while and may be going down this route if I can source matching reamer and dies.

Cheers,

Its easy enough to get a good subsonic round with existing 30 calibres like the 303, 30-06, 308 etc. etc as there are plenty of good heavy cast boolit designs and moulds out there.

KISS!

Sure do, once you have built your rifle, I can supply as much as you want, and I will sell it to you at dollar prices. Your name is on it.
