Many thanks for your kind good wishes. Wet and windy here also, so a quiet day in doors setting up a kilner jar or two of orange gin for next year. What a time to wait! Spent the rest of the day answering the phone calls from family and friends.

Ovenpaa,

Orange Gin:-
1 Ltr Gin of your choice. Some use cheap gin. Some insist it must be the very best. You pays your money; you takes your choice.
1 large orange.
6-8 onz Sugar.
1x1.5 ltr Kilner Jar.

Cut orange in half then slice thinly. Place in jar with sugar and gin .Seal. shake well. Shake twice a day till all sugar has dissolved, about a week. Store in dark for 9-12 month then strain or syphon off orange gin from remaining orange. Ready to drink. The orange; remove peal and incorporate with chocolate for an excellent liqueur chocolate. The skin best used to flavour casseroles, beef or venison, you only need a little. Nothing wasted. Cheers
