im sure il be told otherwise but rimfire powder is completely different compared to standard powder, was the mb ali or steel , and what is some time .... there are comp shooters that havent cleaned there guns in 30 or years and they still have tremendous accuracy

No but powder residue does absorb moisture that causes corrosion. Think of the problems that some shooters have had when they have left moderators on rifles and condensation combined with powder residue has corroded the muzzle end of the barrel. More than one or two shooters have ended up having to replace barrels.

I think given the problems caused by moisture etc I think for the sake of taking the flash hider off that its worth doing.
