My vote to leave also had nothing to do with EU Firearm Legislation. It was ALL about democracy and sovereignty and if I'd really had to, I'd have given up my firearms to achieve this.

That makes three of us then. The thought of any firearms legislation never entered my head.
Make that 4 and I will add that as well as firearms, immigration was not even a slight consideration for me. It was entirely down to sovereignty, democracy and independence.

My initial thoughts were to leave as it looked as though it would be a good move in regards to protecting us from the new EU Gun Directives. There was quite a drive prior to the June vote in promoting "leave" across a number of shooting groups and I personally think that it was rather misleading given what we now know.
My reason for voting to stay was influenced in having family living in Germany.
Personally I believe that far too many Brits voted with their hearts rather than their heads.... we saw people in tears of joy because "I've got my country back"..... how ridiculous

Yes, that is the site....... I didn't post a link because I got told off last time
It isn't the link that you need to watch out for but the dubious journalism it leads to.
To be fair there is only dubious journalism everywhere now though so this site is only running with its peers in self serving sensationalism..
Completely agree with Dromia re the "dubious Journalism" I wish the writers would consider more carefully the potential outcomes of their words of wisdom.
From a purely personal point of view, I had listed my SGC LR9 for sale, before I was aware of this piece sensationalism, I had a number of genuine enquiries all of whom have
now backed out. All based on a paragraph in an article that, as far as I can see, has absolutely no basis in fact.
I guess I will be keeping the gun.
Really, really annoying.
Rant over.

Mike, you have every reason to "rant". When I first saw the article I thought "why the hell are they showing a picture of a SGC LR9 in connection with an article on Semi-auto centre-fires".....
If it is any help, there are 3 people in the club that I will be at tomorrow evening that are interested in getting a LR9, one of which already has a "9mm" slot and the other two are talking about putting in variations after seeing mine. I could print out your add for them if you wish.

Why is getting one's country back ridiculous???????
I would have been an OUT mainly because this is NOT the common market that people were conned into voting for many moons ago.
Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!
Wanting control of your country was voting with your head, confusing an economic union with a continental shelf shows how poor our education system has become.

My thinking also. My decision was made with my head not my heart.
As others have already said immigration had absolutely nothing to do with it. While the press made a big thing about immigration possibly in an attempt to sway the vote, no one that I know or associate with had this in mind when they voted to let our own parliament govern the country once again.
I like many others thought that we were simply signing up to an economic union when we decided to vote in favour of joining the common market something that I am still in favour of. We certainly didn't agree to surrendering power to committees of maladjusted and the misguided career politicians based in Europe.
